Ringa

Ringa is a clock that I designed while taking the Industrial Design Intensive at Pratt Institute in the Summer of 2019. The brief we were given was to design a replacement for the Stomma clock by IKEA that would cost the same amount or less to produce. However, upon my first interaction with the Stomma clock it became clear that my first objective should have been to make it easier to read, which I was able to do by “punching” out holes for the number markers. Then, I realized that the form of the clock itself allowed for a ring shaped disc to be put in the back that could be colored on or numbered.
